Looking for a roommate in Ardmore

Hello!

I am a Swarthmore alum (Class of 2022) and I work in the Swarthmore Admissions Office. I’m looking to move to Ardmore this summer (between May and August) and am seeking a roommate in their twenties or thirties who shares my interest in having a kitchen big enough to cook in and an apartment where we can have friends over. My budget is $1,100 / month or less.

I majored in math and art. I love gardening, cooking, hiking, and social dancing. When I’m not out and about, I love to have friends over to hang out and play board games. I am not partier; I do not drink or smoke. I’m open to living with pets.

Please feel free to email me if you or someone you know is interested (jbarkdo1@swarthmore.edu). Thank you!

Looking for people to hand over a fully furnished apartment to!

Hello! I am looking for people to hand over my apartment to after the lease ends on 5/31. It’s a fully furnished apartment with two bedrooms, each with a bed and a desk, a living room with two sofas, a kitchen, and a bathroom.

Here is a list of more detailed information:

Location: Dartmouth apartment (a minute away from COOP)
Rooms: living room, two bedrooms, one bathroom, kitchen
Cost: 1595(rent)+175(heat, water, etc)+30(electricity) = around 1800
Move-in date: The new lease starts 6/1 technically, but one of the rooms is empty now so you’re free to move your stuff beforehand
Furniture: I’m leaving all of the furniture behind: two couches/futons, two beds, several desks, a flatscreen tv, etc.
Home appliances: two fridges, microwave, air-fryer, electric kettle, blender, etc.

If you’re interested, don’t hesitate to give me a text at 484-724-3123. We can schedule a short apartment tour. Thanks!

In search of summer housing

Possibly an odd request, but I though I might as well post it here in case! I am a Swarthmore student graduating this spring and starting work in Philly in June. I am on the hunt for somewhere to live in University city/center city for three months (June-September 1st) before I move into my more permanent apartment.Let me know if you (or anyone you know) is looking to sublet a place in the area over the summer!

Bucolic Swarthmore Home Available for June & July

Charming, fully-furnished house with five bedrooms and two office spaces, secluded at the end of a long driveway amid a beautiful park-like garden, available for rent from June 1st-July 31st while we’re away on sabbatical. Location is close to Swarthmore College, farmer’s market, train station, etc., yet set back from the street so extremely private. Ideal for a couple or family who want to spend the summer in Philadelphia, or for incoming faculty looking for temporary accommodation.

The first floor has a large living/dining room, a laundry room, half bathroom, and a kitchen that opens onto a sunny family room with floor-to-ceiling windows and a working fireplace, as well as a furnished screened porch. The second floor has a master bedroom with a vaulted ceiling, skylights and an ensuite bathroom, as well as two smaller bedrooms that have their own bathroom, a bedroom that is currently used as a dressing room, and an office. Wanted – Housing

I’m trying to find a 2 bedroom apartment in Swarthmore for a lovely couple with two well-behaved boys, ages 7 and 10. Available now or in the very near future. Long term lease preferred.

Charming Swarthmore Summer Sublet w/ Cats!

This may be a somewhat unusual exchange, but I know many graduate students look for temporary housing in Swarthmore while researching dissertations or attending a summer course, and sometimes new incoming faculty need temporary housing while looking for homes in the area, so I figured it was worth a shot.

We are looking to rent out our 3-4 bedroom family home between June 6th and July 10th. If you enjoy animals and don’t mind keeping our two cats happy, healthy, and cared for while occasionally watering our vegetable garden (which, of course, you can use), we can certainly figure out a deal that suits both our needs.

We have a cat sitter who lives down the street and comes to our house twice a day to spend a couple of hours with our cats while we are out of town. Still, our one cat is very human-attached, and due to the length of time, they would both be happiest with someone staying in the home.

We have three bedrooms, a guest room/office, and two full bathrooms. We have Fios internet, and the house will stay fully furnished, of course, with a fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, driveway parking, electric car hook up, backyard BBQ, firepit, pool table/ping pong in the basement, basketball hoop in the front, etc. We are two blocks from the town center, so it’s an easy walk to campus, the train station (23 minutes to Penn’s campus downtown), grocery co-op, PAC (community center), and library.

Please email me for details so we can discuss a fair price.
